WELCOME TO THE RIOT!

Greeting Comrades!

So here we are, a week and a half after the first edition of Toronto Toy Riot!

We are pleased to share with you that the event was a smashing success! We had a lineup down the street for our opening on May 2nd, and we had a steady flow of patrons coming to Toy Riot throughout the weekend!

We just wanted to follow up, and let you know that the upcoming days will see us catching up on things, including updating our website with photos of the show!

For now, we wanted to send everyone a heartfelt thank you for their support in making Toronto Toy Riot an incredible weekend that surpassed our expectations!

Thank you!

We want to take a moment to thank some folks, as their support really helped make the event a success!

Thank you to our Kitbash Table Sponsor DKEtoys! They provided us with some of the materials for the kitbash table, as well as some of the items that populated our giveaways!

Thanks to Toronto Event Generator for their financial support through their microgrant program, these funds helped keep our vendors fed and caffeinated throughout the weekend!

Thank you to our media partners, ToyArtVentures and Toys in the Basement for their event reportage! Having you provide us with live documentation online throughout the show really helped people see just how great it all turned out!

Thank you to Joker Joker TV and Toyzalive for dedicating time on their Youtube programs to discuss the show. Having your support means a lot to us - and to the community!

Thank you to Urban Ninja Squadron for joining our street team and helping us promote the show throughout the city! We truly believe that on the ground promotion like postering and flyering is a tried and true grassroots way to get the word out about events! This support was invaluable!

Thanks to all our volunteers, who helped us set up, tear down and help everything run smoothly. As a small team, having volunteer support really helped us focus on the bigger picture! Particular thanks to volunteer Brandi, who manned the community and kitbash tables for the entire weekend!

Finally, thank you to all of our artists - those who came IRL, and those who sent work for the community table! You are the reason we wanted to bring Toy Riot to the city! Your vibrant and creative work is the foundation of Toronto Toy Riot! With over 40 artists represented in total, we were floored by just how unique each artist’s interpretation of what an “art toy” can be, meant that we had a room full of diverse objects and perspectives! Thank you all for your participation!

THE BIG NEWS: TORONTO TOY RIOT WILL RETURN!
**SAVE THE DATE!

We’ve already had a conversation with the Tranzac Club about Toronto Toy Riot 2027!

Due to some other bookings the venue already has, we’ve had to adjust our schedule and dates for the 2027 edition of the show!

So, SAVE THE DATES:

TORONTO TOY RIOT WILL RETURN on
APRIL 3rd and 4th 2027!

That’s right, we’ll be back and the dates are locked in! We’re currently soliciting feedback about the show and are making plans for next year, with the return of our vendor hall, community table, and an expanded kitbash table area, due to the overwhelming response to that activity!

Please stand by in the future for more announcements, such as a call for artists, sponsors, partners, volunteers and all that other stuff.

Thank you again for everything!

We are positively glowing!

Remember, if you’re reading this - you’re part of the resistance
