Welcome to the Toronto Toy Riot Newsletter!
We are now less than 1 MONTH AWAY from the show!
We’re positively vibrating here at TTR Headquarters!
We have a few exciting developments we’d like to share with you this week!
Outlaw Plastic Syndicate at TreeHouse Collectibles Sat, Apr 11th!
If you’re into vintage toys and are in the Toronto area this weekend - pop by Treehouse Collectibles for the 1st Annual Swap & Score Market!
There will be over a dozen trading vendors set up at tables outside, under the tents and in our new event space looking to make some swaps! So bring some toys and pop culture fodder and make some trades and rub elbows with other passionate collectors in the community! Of course you could also score something without a trade!
OPS members Greyskull Toys and Yoyodyne Toy Division will be tabling at the event, unloading some vintage treasures from their personal collections! We’ll also have plenty of Toy Riot posters and postcards on hand!
Buy Toys, WIN PRIZES!!!! Toronto Toy Riot Raffles all Weekend!
All weekend long at Toronto Toy Riot, we will be having raffle draws for prize packs that will include Toy Riot merch, and lots of art toy surprises from our participating artists, and our Sponsor, DKEtoys!
In order to better support our artists, our raffles work like this:
For every $20 you spend at a vendor at the show, the vendor will give you a ticket!
Take half of the ticket for yourself and the other half goes in our raffle box, which will be at the Toronto Toy Riot table in the front room of that Tranzac club.
We will be doing TWO giveaways EACH DAY! One at midday, one near the end of each day!
We will announce the winning ticket numbers at the show, and on our instagram, so be sure to follow @torontotoyriot
Buy stuff, win stuff! The more you support artists at the show, the greater your chances of winning! How about that?!?!
Call For Volunteers! Volunteer, Get a T-shirt!
Running events can be difficult - and we’re a very small team.. So we thought we would reach out and ask for some folks for support through volunteering!
We could use help with postering and postcard distribution, and some extra bodies to help everything run smoothly during the event. Moving tables, relieving Toy Riot staff at their tables when needed, supervising the Kitbash Table, where people will be making their own Art Toys, etc
If you are interested in volunteering, we can ply you with snacks, pizza, and our gratitude! More than that, volunteer for us and we’ll give you a Toronto Toy Riot T-Shirt of your preferred size to wear at the event, and to keep afterwards!
